Why join a union (continue...)
These effects of the company conduct directly and negatively impact on the salaries of employees which spills over into the living conditions at home.
SACU, observing this landscape at present have tentatively approached other entities and unions with the aim to to form alliances to protect these employees’ rights that were achieved over many years.
Sad to say it fell on deaf ears. As SACU we therefore implore on all our members and any other employees that are interested in making the union strong, to make the following important decision:
Complete the attached debit order and become part of the solution to face all the challenges that we see on the horizon head on.
SACU members who complete the debit order would automatically stay full paid up members of the union with all benefits without the company stop order being necessary anymore, therein countering the attempt of the company to make you a non-member where they can then treat you with impunity at their leisure.
Any Union is only as strong as it’s member support base. In supporting your Union in numbers, not every member needs to be actively involved in the difficult conflicts in keeping the company honest in the treatment of affected employees, yet by the fact that you are a member of a Union makes the employer think twice before they act unfairly, as what is showing in their conduct at present.
